GF DF Vegan Alfredo Sauce


My youngest sister is getting into the raw food life style and wanting to add more raw vegetables in our diet I started to look through some of the raw food blogs and came across this recipe. Expensive because of the nuts but perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients:
2 cups cashews or any other white nut (Macadamia nuts or pine nuts), although I think cashews create the richest sauce.
1 and 1⁄2 cup water
2 garlic cloves
juice of one lemon
1 teaspoon sea salt
1⁄2 teaspoon white pepper or black if you like
pinch of cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Directions:
Throw everything into the blender and blend well. Let the sauce sit overnight to 24 hours in the refrigerator. The flavor becomes more intensified over time.

Serve over Zucchini "Pasta" (steamed or fried zucchini- can't quite go completely raw) or GF pasta.

  1. So I went and bought the cashews for this recipe (more money than the leg of lamb!) but we were bamboozled by the sheer tastiness of this special treat and gobbled them all up before dinnertime.
